Martin was an ordained minister. He became a founding member of Lighthouse and was very instrumental in the first years of the church. He would travel from Mattoon every week with the aid of his friend and our brother in Christ Mike Boyd. The whole crew from Mattoon, led to Taylorville by Marty, worked dilegently when we restored the church building from a condemned state to what it is today. Marty could laugh for hours . He was very personable and outgoing. He also loved the word of God and was very estute when it came to the word. He showed this as he held bible studies in his home for longer than we knew him and would open his home up to people in need. He will be greatly missed by many. May the Lord Bless and keep your soul.
